About the class: Vocal cross-training involves building a balanced vocal mechanism by incorporating exercises and techniques from different vocal genres or styles to improve overall vocal strength, flexibility, and resilience. Integrating Roy Hart extended voice, Linklater, Alexander technique, song, this workshop will introduce participants to vocal techniques to support free and dynamic expression in performance.

Vocal cross-training is facilitated by PETE founding members Rebecca Lingafelter, Cristi Miles, and Amber Whitehall.

Cost: $350

Note: PETE offers a limited number of BIPOC scholarships for each of our classes. To sign up for a BIPOC scholarship, simply select a BIPOC ticket at check out. If the BIPOC option does not work it means the scholarships spots have been filled. If you have received a BIPOC scholarship through PETE in the past 24 months we ask that you leave those spaces open for others.

About the instructors:

PETE classes are taught by PETE’s founding ensemble members: Jacob Coleman, Rebecca Lingafelter, Cristi Miles and Amber Whitehall.  All PETE instructors have trained extensively with Anne Bogart and the SITI Company, as well as Mary Overlie, Wendell Beavers, Barbara Dilley and Tectonic Theatre. PETE instructors have taught at Portland Actor’s Conservatory, Barnard College, Naropa University, Brandeis University, Boston Conservatory, Pacific University, Lewis & Clark College, The University of Portland, Reed College, The Public Theatre, and the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts.
